About us
Founded in 1836 in Romanshorn, Switzerland, as a rope factory, FATZER AG Drahtseilwerk has been producing ropes of the highest quality for generations. At first, hemp ropes were made for agriculture, fishing and shipping, and in 1900 the manufacture of steel wire ropes began. From 1948, a specialization in technically demanding mountain railway ropes, which have been successfully exported worldwide since the sixties. Today, Fatzer focuses on the development, manufacture and worldwide distribution of high-quality wire ropes and, through its long-term commitment and consistent focus on the market, is playing a leading role among rope manufacturers. In addition to ropes for transporting people and materials, winch ropes are also manufactured for piste equipment. As a competent partner for cable car builders and cable car users, we offer tailor-made, individual solutions for every need.
Thanks to their experience and their technical know-how, our employees provide customer-oriented services around the rope, from transport consultancy through reliable assembly work to subject-specific rope technology seminars. Our quality assurance system SQS according to ISO 9001: 2008 guarantees a high standard at all stages of development and production. As a member of the Brugg Group, we use an optimal infrastructure.
