About us
Ingpuls GmbH is a spin-off from the Institute of Materials and the Collaborative Research Center 459 Formgedächtnistechnik of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum. As a high-tech engineering company, Ingpuls specializes in metallic materials and deals with innovative technologies and products from the field of materials research. The special emphasis is on shape memory technology.
Shape memory alloys (FGL) based on nickel and titanium (NiTi, Nitinol) are intelligent functional materials that can be used wherever particularly high forces and travels as well as great flexibility are required. Shape memory alloys are actor and sensor at the same time and offer an enormous potential for weight reduction and energy efficiency due to the highest energy density of all known actuator materials. Pseudoelastic shape memory alloys can be up to 100 times more reversibly deformed than conventional steels. A NiTi actuator can lift up to 1000 times its own weight.
In its product portfolio, Ingpuls GmbH offers high-purity FGL ingots and experimental melts as well as FGL semi-finished products in the form of wires and flat strips. Individual FGL components e.g. for actuator applications are manufactured on customer request. In addition, standard alloys for integration into products often do not offer the required properties. Ingpuls GmbH offers its customers customized FGL for individual requirements (switching temperature, mechanical properties).
