The General Gold and Silberscheideanstalt AG was founded in 1891 as a public limited company of Pforzheim jewelry and watch manufacturers. Since then, the company has expanded its spectrum from pure precious metal processing to semi-finished products and today is one of the leading suppliers of precious metals and precious metal services in Europe.

With the increasing demands of our customers, we have grown steadily and offer first-class products and reliable services for the precious metal processing industry. We manufacture for renowned companies in the fields of jewelery and watches, the coin industry but also for industrial applications in electrical engineering, automotive production, the chemical industry and medical technology.

As part of the Umicore Group, we are present with our subsidiaries and plants in the relevant regions of the world – without losing sight of the domestic market. With our headquarters in Pforzheim we have strong roots in the traditional center of jewelry and watchmaking, a location with excellent professionals and international connections to the worldwide precious metal markets.
