Swiss sensor pioneers
Since 1986, CEDES has been developing and producing innovative solutions for security and information systems, automation and monitoring, as well as industrial and industrial control systems. The start-up, founded by the two founders in a kitchen, is today one of the leading companies in the field of optical sensors with active infrared technology and image processing and employs around 400 people worldwide.

In less than a decade, CEDES has become the global leader in elevator sensors. Already in 1991 we launched the first commercial light curtain, which became the industrial standard. As a result, our forked light barriers revolutionized elevator positioning – our shaft communication systems were also groundbreaking. The same pioneering spirit spurred our entry into the Entrance Automation Market. CEDES offers highly reliable sensor solutions for passenger, industrial and garage doors as well as for transport and personnel flow, warehouse management and automatic windows.
