Over 25 years of dedication, competence and professional know – how have been achieved by the
Konrad Friedrichs GmbH & Co. KG (KF) has become one of the world’s leading manufacturers of carbide rods. KF was founded in 1987 in Kulmbach – today a company with 125 employees and an annual production of 1,000 tons.
In order to meet the increasing demand for carbide rods, the KF carbide factory has been steadily expanded over several years. At the end of 2011, the logistics and grinding shop were relocated to Plant 2 and the extrusion press and sintering business were expanded.
In addition to round bars without and with cooling channels (straight or twisted with up to 6 cooling channels), our product range also consists of fixed lengths, near-net shape blanks and special parts according to customer requirements. A comprehensive quality assurance system – certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001: 2008 – guarantees the highest product standards.
Our carbide grades K40UF, K40XF, K44UF, K88UF, K55SF and K6UF set worldwide standards in the field of carbide tools. To meet the increasing demands of tool manufacturers, we focus on the development of new, innovative carbide grades in the area of ​​R & D. In particular, the hardness and toughness of our materials are based on the increasing complexity of the cutting processes, e.g. in the machining of high-temperature steels, superalloys and CFRP, as well as high-performance cutting and high-speed machining.
Together with our partners, we have created a worldwide sales network on all 5 continents. As a medium-sized company with a lean structure, we react quickly and flexibly to the requirements of our customers. Through a partnership-based cooperation, we design suitable solutions for the respective needs.
