The company was founded in 1919 in Siegburg as a bicycle workshop by Jean Walterscheid and today belongs to the globally active GKN Group, headquartered in Redditch, United Kingdom, which has around 49,000 employees in more than 30 countries and generates annual sales of over € 8 billion. Since 1955, the company headquarters of GKN Walterscheid in Lohmar.
