For more than 50 years, steute has been developing and manufacturing switching devices, sensors and control units that meet the highest quality and reliability requirements. The program, which includes a wide range of series as well as numerous customer-specific switchgear, is divided into four business units: Wireless, Automation, Extreme and Medical Technology.
In the large international market of switching devices, steute is known as a manufacturer focusing on defined fields of application and demanding environmental conditions. The program includes many “specialists” among the switching devices – for example, vibration-proof sensors for use in marine technology, safety mounts for explosion-proof areas, extremely compact wireless position switches, operating systems for medical technology and self-powered pull-wire switches that operate on the principle of “Energy Harvesting “work.
All four of steute’s business areas are geared towards working closely with users and taking customer requirements into account right from the development stage. Improved spatial conditions were created at the end of 2012: The new development center on the company premises in Löhne provides ample space for around 50 hardware and software developers as well as state-of-the-art test equipment.
As a medium-sized family business, steute reacts quickly and flexibly to market trends and customer requirements. For this reason too, and because of its focus on defined, particularly demanding tasks in both automation technology and human-machine interaction, the company is growing continuously.
At the end of 2012, not only the new development center was inaugurated, but also a production facility in Shanghai / China. In addition, production and warehousing in Lohne were extended by 3000 m2. The spatial expansion goes hand in hand with personnel growth. Meanwhile, steute employs around 300 people and plans further growth in 2013 as well.
