Founded in 1907 by Sven Winquist, a Swedish engineer, SKF quickly grew into a global enterprise. The first factory was built in Gothenburg (Sweden), where the international headquarters of the SKF Group is still located today. Already in 1920, the company has established itself on all five continents and today is present in more than 130 countries. The group employs approximately 48,400 people and has more than 130 production sites in 32 countries worldwide. With our own sales companies, which are supported by about 15,000 authorized dealers, we guarantee our customers short delivery times and individual and fast on-site support.
In Germany, the SKF Group employs around 6,700 people. Schweinfurt with its approx. 4,400 employees represents the largest production site of the SKF Group and the headquarters of SKF GmbH in Germany.
